I agree with setting up a political sub forum. You already have several. I assume you look at all messages now anyway, so you are already moderating to some degree. Just make the rule that there are to be no politics in any forum except for the politics one. If anyone posts anything political in any others, delete it and warn the poster. If they commit another offense then ban them.

I think a forum will be the best way to do things for political topics cause I know there will be some.
There will be rules but I think there will be a three strike you out kinda deal. Unless you do something bad.
Should be up tonight!!

many forums try and revert back to talking. YOu cant talk guns without politics and crime. Those often lead to race as well. There is a classy way to do it without being bigoted. For example its a fact most blacks back democrats. Its a fact blacks commit far more gun crimes ( naacp will tell you) and democrats are the ones wanting gun control. SOme fear pointing that out. Some forums have had concern wtih illegal immigraion discussed. Does anyone really think all hte anchor babies and grand anchor babies are not the reason AZ went blue?

I have often heard "public image" of gun owners. That is how we will lose our guns. Do you think any site dear to the left has a no politics rule? ITs the forum owners rights what rules they want to instill but you cant deny facts. I am on a GA forum that actually thinks calling Biden and most democrats a disgrace to their race is wrong when its so damn evident they are. This is Dixie. Its not Maine. And yankee forums are pretty damn conserviative until you mention "We tried to warn y'all what would happen. YOu said "what could go wrong""

All politics is local, and we (jmho) definitely need to know what is happening within our State. A separate section concerned with general topics on political subjects would seem to be warranted. Typical of internet forums, a moderator/s is usually required for the entire forum and moderator/s for specific subject sections. Personally, a section on local/state politics and another separate section on national politics (federal legislation can and does greatly effect some local political decisions). I did vote yes.

Guns, Guts and God made the USA the greatest land of freedom, justice and opportunity in recorded history! First, "Guns": They must Never, Ever be surrendered - self defense, the Right To Keep And Bear Arms, is a God-given right -- ["[H]e that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one", Luke 22:36] -- that no king or tyrant can take away from Free Men Created in the Image of God. The 1776 Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of the United States of America memorialize that right and other inalienable rights. Amendment Two to the Constitution leaves no doubt as to the framers' intentions about guns and the right and Duty of every American to own, maintain and be proficient with Arms. "Gun control" and confiscation are what led to the colonists' attack on the Redcoats at Concord Bridge near Boston when the shot was fired "that was heard 'round the world". The Redcoats found out what determined Armed patriots can do to tyrants. "Gun control" was the spark that ignited the 1776 Declaration and the 1787 Constitution! Proponents of "gun control" continue to plague us to this day. Next word: "Guts". Other words for "Guts" are: courage, fortitude, determination, independence, resilience, grit, resolution, and others including Faith. America's Founders had Guts! King George's army was the most powerful military force in the world, yet American farmers, merchants, and ordinary citizens, each with a flintlock rifle kept over the fireplace mantle, led by a Virginia planter and surveyor, rose up in defiance and destroyed the King's armies in hard-fought battle after battle. The Continental Army emerged, fighting with scant equipment, overcoming unimaginable hardships, freezing at Valley Forge, nearly starving at times, often unpaid, usually lacking funds from the Congress, and even political opposition at home; some colonists, disgustingly called "Tories" wanted to remain under the Crown. What kept these untrained, ill-equipped, poorly paid, citizen riflemen going???!! Well, it was their Guts -- their Faith!! Faith in each other, faith in their cause, their leaders, their Commander-in-Chief and above all else, their faith in God. Virtually all colonists were Christian believers. So, recognizing the need for his troops to nourish their Faith, Washington prevailed on the Congress to appropriate funds for Bibles. Faith in God was the ultimate inspiration for the men who fought the King's armies in fight after fight, battle after battle, day after day, for seven long years. In dictionaries of that time, Religion meant "Christianity". Washington said that it was impossible to govern in the absence of Christianity. History proves that government and religion are inextricably interwoven. Laws of governments will always be based on a religion; the question is "what religion will those laws be based on? In the newly-formed united States of America, the laws were based on the common law of England which were adopted in the new Constitution (1787). The English common law was codified in the writings of the King's jurist, Sir. William Blackstone, who was a Christian. Thus, America's laws were based on the Christian God's Laws, notably The Ten Commandments. James Madison, principal author of the Constitution, said, "We have staked the whole future of American civilization not upon the power of government, far from it. We have staked the future of our political institutions upon the capacity of mankind for self-government, upon the capacity of each and all of us to govern ourselves, to control ourselves, to sustain ourselves according to the Ten Commandments of God." For 150 years, men in the USA aspiring to be lawyers studied Blackstone's Commentaries on the Common Law. Judges used Blackstone's Commentaries as bases for decisions. But, early in the twentieth century, legal "scholars" such as Roscoe Pound decided that the law should evict God and be based instead on reason of men. Pound called it "sociological jurisprudence". He got his ideas from the dark world of occult mysticism taught by German philosopher Georg Wilhelm Hegel. Pound ridiculed Blackstone. Pound became Dean of Harvard Law School and influenced men like Oliver Wendell Holmes, Benjamin Cardozo, Louis Brandeis and others who became US Supreme Court Justices, lionized in today's law schools. The result was and is judge-made law. Pound's influence pervades the High Court today and explains its perverted decisions which have turned the Constitution upside down. Pound's teaching parallels the messages of Charles Darwin's evolution theory and Karl Marx and Fredrich Engels in The Communist Manifesto (1848). The Communist Manifesto has ten planks, a counterfeit of The Ten Commandments. All ten of the Manifesto's ten planks are now in US law. Plank Number Ten is "free public education" so the state can "educate" our children. America's law schools are controlled by the American Bar Association, a socialist, godless organization carrying water for socialism. World Socialism is the goal for the International Communist Conspiracy. Communism is not a political ideology; it is a criminal enterprise dedicated to enslave the populations of Planet Earth. Communism was created and financed by Elite American and European men who seek to rule the world: J. P. Morgan, Jacob Schiff, Rothschild and others. They created and own (through heirs - they inter-marry among themselves) the world's central banks which control presidents and kings through power to lend money created out of thin air. America's central bank is the "Federal Reserve System". It is not a bank, however; it is a monopoly on the right to print paper money. The Elites get their wealth and power from the Prince of the Power of the Air, the ruler of this present age, a spirit being, formerly an archangel, known as Lucifer later renamed Satan. The central bankers control the Democrat and Republican parties and virtually all institutions and industries - banking, education, government, media, medicine, agriculture, religion etc. The bankers' collection agency is the "Internal Revenue Service", which has admitted in litigation that it is not a US federal agency; it is a terrorist organization which threatens judges with audit. In fact the bankers have their own court, the US Tax Court, staffed with former IRS lawyers. As a result of a central bank, uncontrolled spending and unrestrained corruption, the USA is at the edge of collapse into civil war and occupation by foreign troops, possibly German or Chinese. This leads to the Great Tribulation foretold by Jesus Christ in Matthew 24. WW-III will follow, breaking out in the Middle East. Just before all mankind is destroyed, Jesus Christ will return to the exact spot from where he departed 2,000 years ago, resurrect true believers from their graves, and with his army of angels, defeat the world's armies which attempt to fight Him. The Millennial Kingdom of God will follow, with Jesus Christ ruling from the Throne of David at the Temple Mount in Jerusalem, assisted by his risen "chosen ones". During this 1,000 years Satan will be chained in an abyss, along with his false prophet. There will be no crime, war, pain, stress, debt, famine, desert, sin or death. Just love, peace, joy, abundance, happiness and praise for the Father in Heaven, through the King of Kings, Jesus Christ. The lion will eat straw and lie with the lamb. People will be able to translate at will rather than having to fly in aircraft or drive cars. They will be able to walk through walls, just as Jesus did after His resurrection. After the Millennium, He will resurrect all the rest of mankind to enter the Kingdom at the Great White Judgment and have Eternal Life, conditioned on repentance and belief. Satan will then be cast into a lake of fire along with the false prophet (probably the reigning Pope). The Kingdom will be everlasting. The plan of God for mankind has been in progress for the six thousand years of recorded history. We are now entering the seventh millennium of history. God's plan is patterned after the seven days of Creation. A day is as a thousand years with God. He is not limited by time or by Newtonian or quantum physics. His Plan for mankind --- the nuclear family of husband, wife and children --- is patterned after the Divine Family, currently consisting of two Persons, the Father and the Son. Soon the Divine Family will consist of many Persons as resurrected humans become brothers and sisters of Jesus Christ and joint-heirs in His Kingdom. You, my gentle reader, have been informed and warned as to what is to come. Ezekiel 33: 1-8. Do you want to have Eternal Life for yourself and your earthly family? The Eternal One offers it to you as His gift because He loves you. John 3:16. Guns, Guts and God: these three abideth, but the greatest of these is God. Salty 01/25/2021 Montgomery

Politics, religion,....can we have a bikini section?
I do think my wife would object.

Politics - take part of you want, not trying to force it on anyone, it’s one forum I’ll keep an eye on but not really be active in.
Religion - while I believe I do not think a section is warranted.

Politics is connected to everything. It’s a tough category to moderate if there’s a lot of leftists whining about what truth someone said. But, other than that, it’s definitely an important topic to stay informed about. Especially on a 2A online community.

FYI --
The University of Michigan recently banned students from possessing a firearm on campus and a student sued.
Gun Owners Of America filed an Amicus Brief in the Michigan Supreme Court, seeking reversal of the lower courts' decisions against the student, which can be accessed at the website below. I don't know the outcome of the case but the Brief provides ammo for defending the God-given Inalienable Right to Bear Arms. If anyone thinks God and Religion have nothing to do with guns, the Second Amendment and politics, he needs to learn the Truth. The lonang website (with which I have no affiliation) is a goldmine of essays about Law. The essays are written by lawyers for lawyers, but read easily and should be understood by every American who loves Liberty. Without God there is No Liberty. The USA has become a godless nation and is about to suffer the consequences of rejecting the Ten Commandments. Bible prophecy does not fail. See my earlier post. "Ignorant and Free Can Never Be." I'll vote NO. I have left every other form of media and in person social groups due to discussion of politics. It's constantly jammed down our throats all day, every day and it's nice to have places where that isn't the case. Some people think if I remove myself from the discussion that I'm in disagreement. That's not the case. It doesn't matter if I 100% agree with you or not. I just don't want to hear it any longer.

I understand which is why I asked for opinions and am treading lightly on it. I don’t care for politics but as many has said it’s wrapped around our love and hobby of guns and ownership.

Well, I came to a gun forum for talk about GUNS and my feedback was requested and given. That's it. With the oversaturation of politics in everything, even things non-political, it would just be nice to not have to sort through the BS for a change. That's all. I hope you are having a great day, BTW.
Thank you again for your feedback, not trying to shovel anymore then we have to but some like to talk politics which now has a forum.
Without the 2A there'd be no GUNS to talk about. If we discuss the 2A we necessarily have to talk about the state of affairs. That's not BS that's reality.

If a general topics forum for gun owners isn't appropriate then what/where is-?
There is a forum specific for politics. So that way people that do not want to see it does not have to be involved.

With that said, everyone on the forum believes in the 2nd amendment. At the same time politics is not just about the 2nd.

I don’t want to talk politics so unless I am checking that forum I won’t be of much value in it unless I see something to bring to your attention.
