How do you sit in the car or a seat with a IWB holster?

I got a clinger holster stingray, Super nice but how do I sit down without it poking me in the rear or in the back.

I've been carrying a good while, but largely converted from OWB to IWB about two years ago.

I position my holster (a Milt Sparks VM-2) at "3:30" or so; for me, that position optimizes both concealment and comfort. If I position much farther back than that, things get pretty uncomfortable.

I use an Alien Gear Cloak Tuck 2.0. As I am a little thick around the middle, I ordered it left hand draw and carry in the small of my back. I can wear it all day. I drive and sit without any discomfort.

^^ A Cloak-Tuk 2.0 was my first IWB "tuckable" holster; I really like carrying that way sometimes, too. Mostly "standard" IWB, but being able to tuck is a great option.

I like being able to change the shells if I change pistols. I started with a shield 9mm, then went to a Glock 27 and now the XD Subcompact without having to change the set up.

I love mine but I have never carried anything but a subcompact. I wore mine all day today with no problems. The good thing about Alien Gear is the shell swaps. If you change you carry gun, they will do a shell swap for free. I think you only have to pay for shipping and you can buy additional shells for about $17 including shipping.

Looking into the urban carry holster. Looks like it rides low enough to rest on your leg when sitting, driving, etc. Does anyone know of any local shops that carry them? Would like to see one before I buy, but may order one anyway to try.

It's kind of hard with the Stingray, I would go to the 3:30 like 4CERTn recommended. The depth of carry (ride height) on the Stingray because of the fixed clip doesn't allow any depth of carry adjustments, so you just have to find the sweet spot where it doesn't dig in to you.

Have you worn it AIWB yet? Once you get past it pointed near/at your cojones I find it the most comfortable and smoothest location for draw.

Not to hijack the thread but I would highly recommend you also take a look at Stealth Gear.

I love mine. Been using it for about a year now. Changed guns once and they changed out the shell for me for free. Just cost me around $3 shipping. Very comfortable. I carry the S&W SD40VE now. Very close to the same frame as your SD9.

I have the the original Alien Gear with the leather back. I also carry all day without a problem but the best part is that it conceals really well. Not even my wife can tell if I'm carrying.
