That serial number dates it to 1945 but that is a 1918 frame. The poorly stamped initials behind the trigger on the left side and the 2 at the end of the serial number were added later. I'm guessing it's an arsenal rebuild and the MJW stamp is who rebuilt it. 252947 is the original serial number, that dates it to 1918.

If it was arsenal re numbered the existing would of been removed and new number with a X prefix would of been added the serial number was not altered someone who ever mjw is felt the need to add the 2 for whatever reason

That explains why the stamps look the way they do. Good luck with it.
