I shoot handguns much more frequently than I do long-guns, and recently realized it had been a while since I’d taken my .223 AR to the range.
It was fun getting “re-acquainted again” with this handy carbine. The lower is from a Bushmaster “Patrolman’s Carbine” model, while the XM177-style upper is something I’d picked-up a while back on another forum; I don’t even know the brand on it.
It’s a tad louder with its 11.5-inch barrel (mated with a permanently-attached 5.5-inch flash suppressor), but lightweight and ridiculously fun. The outing also gave me a chance to finally put the magazine pouch shown to use, a little something I’d grabbed from the Milt Sparks online store. Ammo this last session was mostly Federal .223 and the SuperVel ammo also shown.
My targets were shot at 25 or so yards from low-ready in 2-, 3-, and 4-shot “strings” and were relatively unimpressive, so much so that I didn’t take any pictures of them haha…I was, however, pleased to keep my hits in-the-white on a standard bowling-pin-style target.
More range-time to come with this one, Lord willing!
