I've used them for air rifles with limited success. A pull thru
with built in brush works better. If you're shooting lead bullets you will need a rod with a good fitting brush and a good solvent.
Not sure if it's the same pellets you're talking about but I have a AR cleaning kit that came with some shaped like an AR star chamber. I tried them out but wasn't really impressed over using just a normal cleaning patch.

These are for cleaning the locking lug area on AR15's. They work for the intended use if you have an AR based pistol. I use a special AR chamber brush then follow up with the stars. I see
no advantage to the pellets over a jag and good fitting patches for cleaning the bore. I cut my own patches from old shirts to save money.
