Seems to be more serious than the politicians and those in charge would have anyone believe
China is trying to prevent any citizen information from getting out on the net
but I have heard some reports of hospital workers in Wuhan saying that more like 100k people are infected (and more have died than publicly stated)

I also heard about the lock China implemented to contain the infected, but something like 5 million people got out of Wuhan before the lock down took place

This is some scary stuff

Ya it’s a bad news but I don’t eat bats. Also I need to find more out about it but I’ve been out of pocket a lot here lately.

Keep us posted for anything you hear.

I lost one video I had a link to that was from inside a hospital in Wuhan, it was just overwhelmed with people

Many saying that they do not know exactly how long an infected person is contagious yet, but most agree that infected people are contagious well before they show any symptoms.

Looks like they are only confirming 5 cases in the US (Washington State, California, Arizona and Virginia)

Looks like China is doing it's usual, saying one thing publicly when something much worse is happening

Here is a good worldwide 'official cases' and deaths chart

But I do not believe the numbers coming out of China for a lot of reasons.

1. several sources say that chinese dr's and hospitals are only given a limited amount of test kits so many are never tested
if you are never tested then you are never reported in the results

2. Chinese cremation services are now stated to be running 24.7 when previously only ran a few hours per day
They are cremating bodies to prevent anyone from finding out what anyone died from

3, they are welding doors shut on apartment buildings to keep people in
google around there are videos, they are also just grabbing people off the street and loading them into quarantine camps (no testing done)

4. public spraying of disinfectant in mass quantities in infected areas

I don't want to spread rumors, you can google and see the leaked videos and comments and stories of up to 50,000 dead in China

I do agree that the US stock market is going to be affected by this, to many factories shutdown (and now may not have workers)

Here is a MAJOR concern of mine and something that has bothered me for a while, many of the common drugs people take are only made in China these days. The factories do not exist in the US
So someone like me on diabetes meds or someone like my wife on high BP meds, what happens if those chinese factories don't deliver?

Something to think about anyway, moving all manufacturing offshore in a global economy has risks few speak of, we may be about to see a negative impact of those decisions.

I am not much of prepper type, but this has me rethinking that position, ordering some extra food for long term storage and grabbing some additional capabilities to purify water on my own.

I am prepped a bit on just about everything
but
this shit has now gotten out of control

The virus isn't the problem, the crazy ass stupid people going nuts over toilet paper and supplies and whatever else
holy crap, stop the panic people

grab a sock and wipe your butt, rise repeat, there is no need to panic, TP has a thousand replacements, just look around you

The stock market crashing, store shelves being empty, everything being cancelled, Disney is CLOSING, WTF??
This is just nuts, people scare me more than ever now, the virus is nothing

Now I am even more worried what is going to happen when something REALLY serious happens

NO toilet papaer, no food, no cleaning supplies. Baby wipes, and diapers are all sold out.

I am confused on why we are having these issues when there are far more worse issues related to health that could arise.

I am looking at this as a test run for when something serious does happen
I have some stuff, but I am missing some stuff, I usually buy in bulk and on sale to save money longer term

and this is a good way to really gauge quantities of just about anything you might need in a future incident

This is nothing but fear and panic.

Seems like folks are stocking up on guns and ammo too....

Ammo is something I wish I had more of, I have enough food for a few weeks and plenty of drink items. But if the shtf I think the ammo I have would not be enough to survive longer then a few weeks if people started robbing.

I have always known "people" are crazy in general, but, people getting stabbed over toilet paper in a Costco over basically nothing is concerning. If incidents of looting and robbing really start to break out, I am somewhat prepared, but seriously not ready

These guys are much inspiration

It’s full on crazy....police in some jurisdictions (only heard west coast), will stop responding to some calls and arrest petty criminals. I do see the point as I don’t think we’ve reached the peak yet...

for ammo, I usually buy in bulk, but collecting a few boxes a month is a good hobby ;)

This seems like it isn't real, but I googled and there are lots of hits for it on what appear to be legit news sites

Oregon police department asks public not to call 911 for Toilet Paper

Would not surprise me if this damn thing was going to be a weapon they were making. China has kept info from teh public ( hey bernie that is what happens in socialist states) and I think they need to pay the price. If not for european countries and the usa they would not have their economy built up. Plenty of places we can get cheap labor.

It seems to me this is bascially very similar in mortality rate and communicablility as the flu so I think much of its over blown.

I think the police will minimize contact as much as possible....hopefully minor incidents stopped by police presence will not escalate in their absence.

I think the issue is that this is moving much faster than conventional flu and the mortality rate seems higher, particularly for immune compromised and elderly people.

current mortality rate is higher, but assume 1%with 300 million people in US. If we lost 3 million people, it would be substantial.

I think the rate is high because most people are not aware they have it and are taking over the counter meds for flu. I think the real rate is much lower like .02.

SF should be shut down, but that is another discussion ;)

Italy seems out of control at this point with 30,000 infections but 2500 deaths, that seems out of balance with every other country.

I need to get up the stomach to get back into day trading, there are fortunes to be made with all this up and down roller coaster ride....
