/k/ is the firearms board of 4chan. 90% of the time it's just childish contrarianism (like most of 4chan) but you can get some gems of wisdom there occasionally (it's how I found this site for example). The big draw really is that it's one of the last places left on the internet where you can speak your mind, you just have to go in with thick skin which is a sorely lacking trait these days.
