So I just bought an 18 inch upper for my AR from PSA and am planning to put an LVPO on it. I'm looking at the Vortex Viper PST right now but am open to anything else in that price range. Does anybody have any suggestions?

Yeah that list you posted is all high-end LVPO's; I'm looking more for stuff in the mid-range price point like the Viper. Viper goes for about $500-$600 usually.

SWFA super sniper 1-4x24 w/illum reticle. Rugged with really nice glass. Check them out, hard to beat for the price which is considerably less than the viper. I’ve run one for several years and have no reason to want anything else.

I've been happy with my Burris RT-6 mounted on my Colt 6920.

I work part-time now and don't kick doors anymore, so I haven't been able to abuse and test it...but it doesn't get babied either.

I've heard really good things about the RT-6, common consensus seems to be that's it's the best sub-$500 LVPO on the market. I ended up buying a Viper PST Gen 2 and hope to sight it in this weekend. Went with a LaRue LT104 mount just like in your pic as well.

I'm also looking at the same Viper PST gen 2. I would be really interested to know what you think about the brightness of the dot in daylight. It seemed fairly bright in store, but that's indoors.

I just took it outside and took a look. I'd say anywhere from about 7-10 power is good for daylight, plenty bright without burning your retinas out

FYI just learned a lesson about the Viper PST; make sure you wear gloves when you turn the turret knobs or they'll cut your thumbs.
