If you choose to go the politics route, I would prefer to have a subforum specifically roped off for politics.
As others' have said, in today's environment it may be difficult to keep the topic of guns separate from politics, but IMO it would be nice to be able to enjoy the overall forum and avoid politics if you wish but then also have a place to go to if you want to discuss or rant about political side of things.

I responded to this topic before I worked my way down to the bottom, where, lo and behold, there is politics topic. Just what I asked for, before I even asked for it, lol. That's what I get for not familiarizing myself with the whole board before posting something :O
