Polymer vs steel vs aluminum vs composite

I shoot and carry predominantly metal-framed guns. I have no problem with polymer and own a gun with a polymer frame (a Gen4 Glock 26, FWIW, and it’s a winner, for sure) - I just prefer metal.

Edited to add: while most often the metal I carry and shoot is steel, sometimes it is aluminum a’la this SIG P229 in .357 SIG. Holster is a Kramer Leather OWB Belt Scabbard model; spare magazine is in a horizontal magazine carrier by Magholder, LLC.

I carry polymer because it is light and comfortable. But I do not shoot the pistol that often. My other guns , 1911 , gp 100 , etc get lots of rounds and are steel.
Typically the more dense the building material the more it absorbs recoil too.

Zinc, aluminium, magnesium, and copper! Gotta like a Hi-Point, Rohm, or Ring of Fire gun.
Ok, not *prefer*, but I do love a Saturday Night Special, I just don't depend on them to save my life.
