Storing shotshells in a bucket?

Has anyone tried storing shotshells in a 5 gallon plastic bucket? I've come into a few meant for long term food storage but as they seal up tight I thought they would be equally fit for storing shotshells with a dessicant pack tossed in.

Has anyone else tried it and if so what results did you have?

Haven't ever done it that way but I don't see why it wouldn't work. As long as you keep ammo dry it'll be fine.

I have stored ammo in the 5 gallon buckets that have gaskets with no problem, I have also used one for powder storage.

I store my Shotgun shells that way. Also put in moister absorbers .
