Seriously though, what are the benefits of transmission fluid over motor oil? Arent both engineered to protect metal parts in extreme heat? I tend to use high temp atomotive grease, but things that don't like grease, like an AR, get the motor oil.do you really even care about your guns? The only difference that I can think of is that tranny fluid isn't made to be used where fouling occurs. Wouldn't that be a negative attribute for gun lube?
ATF is a good lube and great cleaner.I had no idea ATF was usable as a gun lubricant.
