Anyone here make leather holsters?

I am trying to get into leather craft, mainly leather holsters. Is anyone else making holsters? I made my first one for a s&w 686, it turned out ok. I didn't get alot of detail out of the wet molding mainly because i didn't have a prop gun, "I'm not sure prop gun is the right term" lol. I used the 686 wrapped in plastic wrap and was nervous about leaving it in the wet leather long. Prop guns are to expensive to buy for just one holster. Has anyone made them using the actual gun and had any problems with rust due to wet molding?
