IDPA, CAS, USPSA, etc. - Anyone a Match Shooter?

Just curious if anyone here shoots matches such as IDPA, Cowboy Action, and the like?

I've done a handful of IDPA matches, including an Intro to IDPA course. Although IDPA and many such disciplines are truly "games," I appreciate the opportunity to shoot "outside the box" and to shoot under both time- and peer-pressure...it's a lot different from standard range-time, for sure.

I've also taken a 3-gun intro course but haven't shot any of those matches yet.

The Cowboy Action Shooting folks look like they just might be having more fun than anyone else on the range. I haven't tried those matches yet but I'd like to...would just need appropriate firearms, gunleather, and outfitting...you know, just small stuff like that ha-ha...

Im not a good shot, but I shoot often. I need to practice more before entering a match. But it would be gun.

Hoover Tactical holds a weekly "tactical / practical" match that they describe as "IDPA-like"...looks like fun, I'm wanting to give that a try soon.
