I bought a Sig P365 Sas wish I would have just bought the regular. Any ideas?

So I bought it for my wife, thinking it would be great cause of the no snag. But she can’t seem to figure the sight picture out very well.
Should I try to trade the whole upper or just sell the whole gun and buy new?
Maybe buy a full upper slide assy and sell this one afterwards?!?
It has to be all or nothing cause hers has ported slide and matching ported barrel.
Any thoughts other than throw more money at it?

I had to look that up.
Does it look like this? I'm not sure I could figure out the sight picture on this thing. Maybe trade it for something with normal sights?

You'd be better off selling the SAS and buying a complete 365. When I bought my 365XL I looked at maybe buying a standard 365 slide/barrel, and the ones I found (ebay, GB, etc.) were almost the same price as a complete 365.

Could be a woman thing. I bought my wife a 365 with regular sights and she can't hit anything with it. I handled the sas and I liked it.

Yeah I looked at slides online to, pretty pricey like 350-400 but still a touch cheaper than buying new gun. But then I’d be trying to sell the old slide assy. If anyone is interested in any swaps or trades or something I’m all ears

I'm also having a little difficulty hitting with my new P365. Found I was grouping way low and left. I drifted the rear sights and got it at least straight but still low. The sights aren't adjustable for elevation so I'm going to try using 147gr ammo to see if it raises the POI (using 124's now).

Do you hold at 6 o’clock or dead on with front sight? I think my regular sights on my sig 365 I hold dead on to get it on target. Others I have group right on when I hold at 6.

I like a 6 o'clock hold. When I hold dead on, it groups closer to the bullseye. I wish the rear sights were a tad taller. Next time I go to Academy, I'll pick up some 147's to see if that works.

I'd say go ahead and sell it unless you can get a really good deal on an upper. May also help to bring your wife to the gun store with you and have her handle some other guns. I've had my gal try out several handguns and she ended up really gravitating toward a Glock 17, which kind of surprised me. You may also be able to go to a gunsmith and rip the SAS sight off the gun and mount a red dot, if you're into that.

I thought about the red dot. After kicking that around for awhile decided against. Hard to see daylight with those and she already has a little crimson trace lazer she loves. Not a big deal really I just figured someone may rather that the Sas or have a slide set up that they might want to trade. It will work out eventually. Thanks for the ideas

I will say that there are red dots with very solid light adjustment that are super visible in daylight, just gotta make sure you buy a quality dot. I usually just run dots on rifles, personally, but one of my buddies has a dot on his CCW and we've both shot in bright daylight with zero issues. I think his is a holosun, which is on the lower end of nice optics, but is pretty affordable and serviceable. I run an aimpoint with my gear and it's also easily adjustable for pretty much every light condition.

Post it in the handgun classified for trade. If I had a regular sighted one I would trade. My lady loves the tritium sights on hers. She heard a noise outside just the other night and went to investigate. She didn't even know she had "glow in the dark sights". She didn't use the gun, just noticed the sights

I haven’t been around long enough yet but if I still have it then I will. Thank you

Where are you located? I’m in Foley and have a P365XL with a factory Romeo 0, flat trigger shoe and box + docs I’ll trade even, if you’re close enough. There’s been about 100 rounds fired.

I’m in Talladega. I was stationed in Pensacola years ago so I believe I’ve been to Foley.

Looks like we are over 4 hours apart. My mother is headed to visit some family in Dothan soon. Not sure if you’d go that far. I could send it with her.‍

It’s still 3-1/2 hrs to Dothan. Can you post some pics of the SAS? I will check with my local gun shop and see how much it would cost to ship to an FFL in Talladega.

I just talked to my FFL here. He said $25-30 for 2 day shipping plus $25 transfer out and $25 transfer in fees. So, it would cost me $55-60 to ship to you and another $25 to receive yours.
Your FFL might treat you better on the transfers than mine does.
I would have to think about this because one gun shop said they would give me a brand new SAS for mine plus $100.

Actually we could just trade slide, barrel and springs. That is legal to ship in mail. Would be just the cost of local shipping.
